The Grace
Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA) was established in 1993 for the
purpose of providing the highest quality instruction available
in the fine arts disciplines, presented in a decidedly Christian
environment. Through this arts education program, students gain
the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively utilize their
creativity in the production and performance of the fine arts
disciplines. It also provides students with an appreciation
of how the arts affect and reflect our history and culture with
a focus toward the world-changing impact of the Christian ethic
and gospel message. Students are trained to use their artistic
talents to inspire, teach, admonish, and evangelize others,
and to apply their talents to benefit the worship life of their
local churches.
While the
Academy is an important part of the life of Grace Episcopal
Church, it is separate from the parish and day school in terms
of its funding, day-to-day operations, its artistic development
and programs. GAFA offers three distinct ministries: an arts
education program (see About GAFA), a comprehensive choral education
program (see Voices of Grace), and a summer music and arts camps
(see Grace Music and Arts Camp.) The programs, although hosted
by Grace Episcopal Church and Grace Episcopal Day School, are
directed to and open to all youth in the surrounding communities.
The faculty
and staff of GAFA are all proven professionals with outstanding
credentials and strong commitments to the lordship of Jesus
Christ. Curricula are comprehensive, age-specific, and Christ-centered.
GAFA draws students of all ages and abilities from our community,
and works closely with the Grace Episcopal Day School. Most
classes and lessons are held on the campus of Grace Episcopal
Church and scheduled at the convenience of both the teacher
and the student. We hope you will take advantage of the quality
instruction available at GAFA.
